MESSAGE FROM KATE
Dear Democrats:

Go Red Sox! Some did not think they could do it. But here we are.

Let's use that same Massachusetts enthusiams for John Kerry. And don't forget the local races.

And most importantly, please support the Democratic nominee in every race. We had some contested primaries, as Democrats, we need to support the Democratic nominee.

Please check out the volunteer opportunities listed below.

This may be the last Dispatch before the election. So hang in there. See you on the campaign trail.

Democratically yours,

Kate Donaghue

Kerry in Manchester/Message from Lynda Tocci
This is it. The momentum in this campaign has swung in our direction. We will have the strongest "ground game" on EDAY -no doubt. You did this. Massachusetts did this.

Kerry is coming to NH -for the final time on Sunday at around 1:00 PM. Location in Manchester TBD. This is a ticketed event. Tickets will be available in every NH office on Saturday after the lit drop which will begin at 9:30 AM.

Register at https://volunteer.johnkerry.com/event/view/?id=39664&1=1

For more information please contact Nichole by e-mailing ncirillo@americansforkerry.com or by calling 603.623.2999.

Help Needed in Minnesota
Ten electoral votes are up for grabs in Minnesota. I heard from Robert Cassidy who is out there that there is a strong need for experienced origanizers. Again, housing is available, so if you can make time to get out to Minnesota for a few days your help will be much needed. They are especially looking for experienced people who want to play a leadership role. You can reach the St. Paul office at 651-647-5024 or try Rob at 952-938-6311.

People Needed in Florida
Look at just about any electoral college map and you can see how critical the need is for us to win Florida. Help is needed in all areas. Jeff Bean is in Orlando and can be reached at 877-778-6726 or cell 978-815-9789. The number of the Orlando HQ is 407-839-5851. Barbara Opacki is in Daytona Beach and that office can be reached at 386-226-2389. Housing is available in supporter homes for those who need it. You will be most effecitve for the campaign if you plan on renting a car so that you will have transportation.

Help Needed in Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania is within driving distance for Massachusetts volunteers. I'm hearing that there is a real need for experienced people in Pennsylvania. I spoke with former Representative John Stefanini this week. He tells me that an experienced organizer's efforts will be multiplied ten fold because they have the volunteers to utilize. Main number 215-789-3663; ask for John or Stephanie or by e-mail to stefaninij@gtlaw.com. If you can arrive in Pennsylvania on Friday evening and stay through the election, you can make a huge difference. There are 21 electoral votes at stake there.

And of Course NH
Large numbers of people are still needed in NH. People often ask where volunteers are most needed. In general I am told that the office with the greatest need for volunteers in proportion to the voter base they are serving is the Lakes Region, based out of Laconia.

Lynda Tocci told me that experienced volunteers who want to know where they can be best utilized should contact Nicole Cirillo. Nicole can be reached at 603-623-2999 or ncirillo@americansforkerry.com. In my own experience I have found that the Concord office is a very effective place to volunteer. They tell me that they especially need poll checkers and drivers phoners and computer people with computers if they have them. It is far enough North that not as many people go, but still close enough that it makes for a strightforward day trip. For a list of all the offices go to www.nhdp.org. Also check out www.johnkerry.com for trips leaving from your area. There are Central Mass trips leaving 495/Exit 26 at 8:30 on Sarutday and 9:30 on Sunday. See calendar for details.

Click here for information on a detailed schedule for the Nashua GOTV effort. I expect that this is typcial of all the offices.

Vote NOW!
If you believe that you will be out of town on election day, vote "Over the Counter" now! You can go to the City or Town hall where you are registered to bote and request an absentee ballot and then actually vote, all in one visit. Even if your plans may change, vote now. It will leave you free to spend more time on GOTV activities on election day. If your plans are not firm for election day, voting now will leave you free to change plans on a mement's notice, without giving up your ability to vote. Also, with a high voter turnout expected, long lines may deter some from casting a vote. The more people who vote in advance, we can help keep the lines down.

Voter Registration Canvasses
Americans Coming Together (ACT, the Move-on.org affiliate) is canvassing people in low income portions of Manchester and Nashua who are not yet registered to vote. These efforts will also focus on persuasion, education, ID, and get out the vote. In New Hampshire an otherwise eligible person who is not registered to vote can show up to vote on Election Day and register at a polling place. For the ACT effort people who are bilingual in English and Spanish are especially needed. Go to www.acthere.com to sign up for volunteer opportunities near you. Carpools out of 41 Elm St. Worcester include: Saturday, October 23, 10:30 AM - 5 PM Sunday, October 31, 10:30 AM - 5 PM

Spanish Speakers Needed in Nashua/Voter Registration
If you speak Spanish and can make time on Nov. 2 to get up to Nashua for a few hours, your help will be much appreciated. Nashua has the largest Hispanic population in New Hampshire and we want to make sure people know how to register and where to vote. ACT will be focusing a large part of its GOTV operation on this community, recruiting people for same day registration and voting. To volunteer, call Graham Roth at the ACT-NH office at 603-622-9000 (office) or 917-414-3481 (cell)

ACT was founded by a group of experienced grassroots and political leaders who have created a strategy to mobilize voters and elect Democrative candidates as the largest Get Out The Vote (GOTV) effort in the country's history

Phone from Home for John Kerry
Please make some calls tonight by going to http://calls.johnkerry.com -- You can do five, ten or even twenty-five calls. These are calls to volunteers and they don't take long to do. The calls are given out based on time zone. I was able to do calls to New Mexico the other night at 9:30 PM eastern. Grat if you want to use free cell minutes.

JOKE OF THE WEEK
How many Bush administration officials does it take to change a light bulb?

None. There's nothing wrong with that light bulb. There is no need to change anything. We made the right decision and nothing has happened to change our minds. People who criticize this light bulb now, just because it doesn't work anymore, supported us when we first screwed it in, and when these flip-floppers insist on saying that it is burned out, they are merely giving aid and encouragement to the Forces of Darkness.

Toledo and the surrounding 3 counties are the bull's eye of the bull's eye of this Battle Ground State. David Linsky Campaign Activities
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: SATURDAY VISIBILITY IN NETICK SQUARE
We have a very dedicated group of volunteers who gather every Saturday from 9 AM - 12 Noon in Natick square, rain or shine and who waive the signs for me, for John Kerry, and for Natick's two Senate candidates, Angus McQuilken and Karen Spilka. Please join them each Saturday for as long as you can. You can pick your own sign or combination of signs.
DEAR FRIEND CARDS
"Dear Friend" cards will be done entirely by e-mail this year. You will shortly be receiving an e-mail with a draft "Dear Friend" card at the bottom, simply copy and paste the text onto a new, blank e-mail and send it to all your friends and neighbors. It is quick, free and extremely important and effective. I thank you for doing this simple yet extremely important effort.
ELECTION DAY
Election Day is right around the corner - November 2nd. Please consider volunteering some time to hold signs, make telephone calls or drive voters to the polls. There is much to be done. Please call Kevin Depodwin at (508) 315-3644 or e-mail him at davidlinskycommittee@rcn.com.
ELECTION NIGHT
We have the Natick Elks on Speen Street reserved for the election night party. Please join us to watch the election returns come in from around MetroWest and from around the country. Stay tuned for more details. If you would like to help on putting together that event, please call Joan Taves at (508) 655-2645.
CAMPAIGN OFFICE
Our campaign office is at 7 Mechanic Street in Natick. (The WaterTite Building) The telephone number there is (508) 315-3644. The email address is davidlinskycommittee@rcn.com. It has telephones; computers, a fax, and everything that we need to run an effective campaign. You are welcome at any time.
CAMPAIGN MANAGER
My campaign manger is Kevin Depodwin, who successfully managed my 2002 re-election campaign. He is a terrific organizer who has years of experience. He can be reached at (508) 315-3644.
WEBSITE
You must check out my new campaign website at www.linsky.org. It is updated daily. Lyman Phillips did a terrific job of professionalizing and updating the website and it is updated daily with news stories, issues statements, and press releases. It also accepts credit card campaign donations and has a "how to volunteer" link.
LAWN SIGNS
Lawn signs are multiplying!! We have over 325 signs in the ground right now and we are still planting them in waves!!! Thank you to all who are hosting them! We are always looking for more!! Please respond to this e-mail or call or e-mail Campaign HQ to sign up! Also, please ask your friends who might like one if they would take one.
BUTTONS, BUMPER STICKERS AND MORE!
We would like to get these out on cars and on people - so pick one up or call for one. We also have a limited supply of the Special Edition "Kerry-Edwards-Linsky" buttons!!
FUDNRAISING
Campaign fundraising has been going extremely well, but it's an unfortunately hard task. No one likes to ask for money, and very few people like to give it up. Nevertheless, we do need funds to get our message out. Please consider a donation today either on-line at www.linsky.org or by mail to:@ The David Linsky Committee

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP
We will need your help in the coming days. Election Day is just over five weeks away, on November 2nd. We need people to host coffees, hold signs, make telephone calls, give rides to the polls and do a million other things. I am proud of everything that we have been able to accomplish, but we have much more to do. Please consider volunteering in some capacity. I appreciate everything that you can do.

Jamie Eldridge Campaign Opportunities
We have the next week's events mapped out on a day-by-day basis, so you can see what Team Eldridge needs help with every day. Our opponent's negative mailings continue to go out, and a great way to make it work against them is by sending out Dear Friend Cards. We have a batch ready and need your help in spreading the word. . This week also features a special Halloween Event! This coming week marks the birthday of my campaign manager Robert, so come celebrate with us the weekend of October 30 and 31st for the "First Annual Halloween Weekend Birthday Phone Bank and Lit Drop." Supporters will be hanging door knockers on doorknobs in their neighborhoods and throughout the district as well as phone banking with Team Resor at the Acton Real Estate Office (371 Mass Ave (Rt. 111) in Acton) being held all week and at Noon on Saturday and Sunday. 1)Door Knockers: We are placing Door Knockers (similar to a do not disturb sign) on door handles to let people know Jamie's positive message. Everyone is encouraged to do this in their neighborhood! It is very simple to do and a lot of fun. Please contact James@RepEldridge.com if interested.
2)Dear Friend Cards: We have a batch of Dear Friend cards ready, so please get in touch with us so we can get some to you. These are a great response to the negative mailings that continue to go out against us. Send an email to Robert at James@RepEldridge.com or call us at 978-263-4244.
3)Phone Banks: Team Eldridge and Team Resor are hosting joint phone banks at two locations: the Acton Real Estate Office every day next week (except Thursday) from 6pm to 7:00pm, and in Shirley's Keystone Properties from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. These calls are crucial to both campaigns, and you will get home before the World Series starts! We need people to call every night, so let us know if you plan on attending.
4)Letters to the Editor: Thanks to all of you who sent them in last week. If you can write a letter to the editor, please contact us at James@RepEldridge.com.

Nashua Campaign Schedule
Volunteer opportunities are as follows:
Saturday and Sunday phone banks in shifts from 10am-2pm; 2pm-5pm; and 5pm-8pm. We would prefer it if people signed up for at least two shifts. Cavasserse nneed Saturday at 9:30 and Sunday at 11 to 5pm. Also, I need visibilities from 11am-1pm; 1pm-3pm; and 3pm-5pm.

Monday, phonebanks are the same hours. Canvassing goes from 9:30-5:00pm. Our visibility shifts go from 7am-9am, 11am-1pm and 4-6pm. (we also need these times for visibility filled for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week).

Tuesday, I have phonebanks from 9:30am-2pm, 2pm-5pm, 5pm-8pm. HOWEVER anyone wanting to make phone calls must be able to make them from their own cell phone. I also need people doing visibility from 6am (when the polls open here) until 10am, 10am-1pm, 1pm-4pm, and 4pm to 8pm. What I need most, however, is people on the Pull Team. This is an 8 hour committment from 12 noon until 8pm. The job is to knock on voters' doors and asking if they have voted. If not, the puller needs to offer a ride to the polls. We will provide the maps and lists necessary. The other big need we have in Nashua is for those people willing to be up here early to drop literature reminding people to vote for John Kerry. The drops begin at 5:00am and continue until 12 noon. This is a critical thing to do since many people forget which day election day is.

Unfortunately, the blocks of time I have given you are not flexible, since we are scheduling hundreds of people and it is already challenging enough logistically. Also remember that in Massachusetts you can take an absentee ballot at the Town Clerk's office up until noon the day before the election.

Talk Radio and Other Media
When the televised meeting between John Kerry and George Bush ends this Thursday, the media battle begins. In the last election, Vice President Gore won the debates, but then lost to George Bush in the post debate media coverage.

This is where you can play a vital role in securing victory for Kerry-Edwards--being part of the "debate response team"--by calling talk radio/writing letters to the editor in support of John Kerry.

Here are talking points on the debate for speaking on-air or for use in composing a letter. Additional post debate talking points will be e-mailed to you.
* George Bush always wins debates on style. But Thursday's debate, on foreign policy--Bush's supposed strong suit--is one of substance. The American people need to know that George Bush actually understands the reality in Iraq.
* In 2000 war and prosperity were not issues in the debates. All that has changed. Now it's not enough for George Bush to win on style or slide by without a gaffe. He must defend his record. He must explain in detail his catastrophic decision to rush to war. He must finally tell the truth to the American people and admit his failures and offer a plan to end this quagmire.
* Voters have a clear choice in this election. John Kerry meets the President, head-on, to discuss his plans for a new course in Iraq, for winning the war on terror and making America stronger at home and more respected in the world.
* John Kerry has the strength & vision to lead America. He has a plan to get us back on track in Iraq--securing international support, training Iraqi security forces, implementing a coherent reconstruction plan that brings real benefits to the Iraqi people and taking the essential steps to hold elections next year.
