Our next CDCC Meeting is the Annual Meeting and Officer Elections on April 6, 2022 at 7pm. All five executive officer positions are up for election: Chairperson, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and Affirmative Action Outreach Officer. Members of the City Committee are eligible to be nominated and elected. 

The meeting will begin at 7pm with ward committees meeting at 6:30pm.

The Cambridge Democratic City Committee will meet on Wednesday, February 23 2022 at 7:00pm to fulfill one of our most important functions — a hearing from the candidates for Election Commissioner, a four-year term on the Cambridge Election Commission. The convention will be held at the MassMutual Center in Springfield on September 14. The convention also gives delegates the chance to meet fellow activists, hear from elected officials, discuss issues, and attend trainings.

The Cambridge Election Commission will be holding a public meeting May 15th to discuss modifying the design of the municipal ballot. The proposed change would cap the number of ovals used to rank candidates at 15, instead of having as many ovals as there are candidates.

All Cambridge wards held caucuses in March to elect delegates to the 2017 Massachusetts State Democratic Convention. Most wards joined together for a citywide caucus at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, where gubernatorial candidate Jay Gonzalez spoke and local democracy swung into action!

It was good to see so many fellow Democrats, new friends and old, gather together on January 11th. We heard Sen. Pat Jehlen speak and continued, with palpable excitement and resolve, to seek effective ways to defend and promote Democratic values in the uncertain days ahead.

I have struggled with what to say to you, as I know that people are still in many different places. For many of us, this entire election has been jarring and even shocking. And for almost everyone I know, the outcome was a surprise.

However you are reacting and whatever you are feeling, the first task is take care of yourself and to be kind to others (and to yourself) in the days and weeks ahead. Stay connected to other people who matter to you. 

Remember that we all have to respond in our own

We're in the final sprint and we're taking a short break to party this Friday. We hope you'll join in, and then continue to work to make this election a success.

If you possibly can, plan now to take Nov. 8th off and head to NH for election day and for Nov 5th and/or 6th. You'll be able to vote early in MA for the 1st time ever. So no conflict.

Award Criteria

The Cambridge Democratic City Committee will make this award at its annual fundraiser when it has identified an individual who is an outstanding leader and has made an exceptional contribution to the community. This person must exemplify the ideals of the Democratic Party and the qualities that we have long admired in State Representative (and former Mayor) Alice Wolf.
