Trump and Beyond:
Party Politics in the 2020s

Cambridge Dems Meeting
Wed. Jan. 13, 2021 at 7:00pm

We have all been shocked this week by the seditious insurrection mounted by Donald Trump in the final days of his presidency. His coup attempts continue to fail, however; Congress did in fact certify the victory of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and we know that Joe and Kamala will take the oaths of office to become President and Vice-President on Wednesday January 20th. Facing Eviction

Sunday October 25, 2020 at 7:00pm

As you probably know, the eviction moratorium in Massachusetts is set to expire on Saturday, Oct. 17th, and there is no indication that Governor Charlie Baker is willing to extend the moratorium even a single day. The Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Trial Court now says our state could see anywhere from 25,000 to as many as 200,000 evictions starting next week.

The Baker administration has announced plans

Today Congressional Democrats introduced the Justice in Policing Act of 2020. In the midst of worldwide outrage at the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and so many others, this is one of the first concrete steps proposed in response to these law enforcement atrocities. Although we do not know whether this particular legislation will become law or even if it should, we welcome this action as a step in the right direction.
